A 7 storey building is not in keeping with the surrounding area of 2 storey houses. Fifty flats being proposed in such a small site is excessive when you think about where the "new" residents would park, presumably on the surrounding streets which are already full and used by the current residents. And what about the strain on the already inadequate drainage system in the immediate vicinity, only too visible when it rains.
The junction on Western Avenue is already extremely busy and any further residential traffic plus a bus hub would cause unacceptable levels of congestion and increase pollution levels in the area. The disruption during the build would cause severe congestion and bring the junction to a standstill.
Redevelopment of this site should be for the benefit of the existing residents and community and not to their detriment.

The site is completely inappropriate for what is proposed. The height for one will overlook into near gardens so there goes their privacy. The extra cars being parked plus the in and out of traffic on an already extremely very very busy junction.

The erection of a 7 storey block of flats at this location would be totally out of character with the area.
Given the already congested junctions at Waungron Rd/ Western Ave, along with Cowbridge Rd East/West can only lead to increased pollution, with the inclusion of an Interchange for public transport, something the Council want to reduce.
Council need to make clear the benefits of bus hubs, since existing public transport is NOT reliable. Furthermore, if passengers need to change buses frequently, they will instead revert to cars etc because of the inconvenience.
Feel sure that if the proposal had come from a private developer, then Council would turn it down on congestion and pollution alone.

This is a small area to be made into a built up area , parking , traffic and general day to day it is always busy this is a very silly idea and not thought through at all

I live opposite this site. The traffic is carnage as it is. Why happened to the thousands of tax payers money that went on the refurbished to then be cast aside in no time. Disgraceful.

We wish to protest against this scheme to proceed with the current proposals. Juction 30 is more than a few miles away if it was to be made into a park and ride. Far too much traffic at this junction on Western Avenue and too much traffic coming through Ely from Junction 30 which is already very busy. The fact that at least 10 buses an hour would use this facility (if it existed) is not viable. Also having a building with at least 7 storeys in a place where only houses exist is also out of character.

The proposed development, both in style and purpose is totally unacceptable for this site. The design is incongruous to the existing residential area. The bus hub plans will exacerbate what is already a hugely busy road junction. This is an appalling scheme and should not go ahead.

The proposed development is not in keeping with the surrounding residential area. There are no seven storey buildings within several miles of the proposed development . The housing density is too high for area and will exacerbate existing traffic and pollution levels.
The addition of the transport hub and its siting also appears to be problematic.
I agree with our local councillor that a far better position would be on the lay-by near Cowbridge Road as this would be closer to the proposed new station .
My preference for this site would be for a “park and ride” facility so increase usage of the local railway network to reduce traffic flows and congestion to Cardiff City Centre which I thought was a major objective of the Council?

This area is totally unsuitable for large scale housing. The traffic issues, which are already bad, would be escalated. If it does go ahead it should be for sheltered housing for the older generation.
