Agreed the size of the scheme and the building proposed is not suitable to the area or needs of the community it will severely impact the area and my property it very close by. Other options and uses - and more suitable sizes should be reviewed. The design is not suitable and the space will be congested and overlook nearby houses and gardens.

A 7 story building is totally unacceptable in this residential area . It is out of keeping. How can Cardiff planning turn down a 3 story building in the same road because it wouldn’t fit in with the area. Talk about double standards. Parking is already a great problem in the small surrounding residential area. As it will be situated on a magor junction, already a bottleneck with the latest building in St Fagans and Llantrisant Rd, it is an accident waiting to happen. The road is a main thoroughfare for local schools . I fear drivers will use Old St Fagans Rd as a cut through, again a small road with cars parked either side . The road is liable to flooding, very close to the small waterway in the little park , which has been under investigation in the last couple of years by local councillors for the ?effluent and smells arising from there. Can the local drainage cope?

Ridiculous idea! To have this at such a busy junction for one. This is a such a small area, for such a proposal. And also not required. Having this right next to the train station. And already having a few bus stops near this area. The best thing for this site to be used for is what it was previously, recycle waste site! Was very well run previously and very useful. A lot of funding was put into this site. For then it to be wasted, and to impose this new proposal would be wasting even more money. As it is not required.

Inappropriate use of space for such a large block of flats. A bus interchange is ok within reason and also housing, but not at the level that is currently being planned

Parking provision is nil which does not reflect the real world, parking will be required-especially as parking can be an issue in local area.

This is not the right site for 50 flats and a building of seven storeys. It is out of place for the area architecturally and will bring more traffic and congestion to an already crowded junction which regularly records terrible pollution levels.

Building a space for 50 homes without providing parking not ok. Also, a seven story building in an area that has only houses is not acceptable and is not keeping with the design and look or the area.

I could understand them putting a few decent sized houses on this plot as that would not have considerably worsened the congestion and parking in the surrounding area, but fifty apartments, with extra shops, offices and buses? Complete madness. Why can't they just make it mostly a parking area for the railway station (if there is to be one). During non-lockdown times the parking and congestion is ridiculous, and that's not allowing for the increase in numbers of nearby Cantonian School. We have increased traffic from the new Llantrisant Road developments and now this - with the Rookwood and BBC Llandaff sites to be developed soon. Enough! Within half a mile or so of this site we have the following schools: Cantonian, Bishop of Llandaff, Cardiff Montessori School, Howells, The Cathedral School, Plas Mawr, Llandaff City Primary. Are they really trying to increase asthma among school aged pupils? One of the Councillors in favour of this needs to stand at the Waungron Road / Western Avenue junction at eight thirty on a weekday morning (preferably with his/her young children) so they they can get a true feel for the traffic pollution in the area. If the Council really want to build fifty apartments without parking I hear there are very many empty (and soon to be empty and never to re-opened) retail outlet spaces in the city centre. Use those? Before we became a nation of shoppers the city centre used to be a place where people lived. Now, it could be again.

The traffic is already ridiculous, we need the tip back not more congestion and crime in this residential area. The safety of the children walking to the schools is also a concern.

Having seen the architect's design for the site I cannot imagine that the Council could have come up with a more unfeasible and annoying solution for the use of this site if they had tried: seven storeys of flats with shops and offices, and next to no parking. What do they think will happen to the fifty to eighty cars linked to the fifty apartments? The ripple effect of this on the already congested streets in the area will be unbearable for local residents. So much for this Council's green agenda!

The area around Ely Bridge already congested. 50 flats might mean an extra 50 cars. Still don't know affect that the new link road to the Mill development will have once that is opened.
