Waungron Road former Recycling Centre

Not viable in this area; already congested in and around here...

This building would not be in keeping with the area and cause increased traffic and parking problems

An ill thought out and extremely damaging plan for this pleasant settled area of Cardiff.

Another waste of ratepayers funds reopen as a recycling centre that’s what is needed in this area

The roads can’t cope now fir goodness sakes

Err no thanks , build one in Radyr then let’s see the outrage from the rich and posh people in in power....

The village is at bursting point.

I object to many aspects of the proposed development. The most serious problems are all linked to the high-density of the planned residences. Other signatories here have already pointed out that this will compound many existing problems in the local area (e.g., traffic congestion during rush hour, which is already horrific). Some of the silly claims made about the aesthetic appeal of the proposed development have, however, received less attention. For instance, the planning statement dated January 2021 states that: “The scale, appearance and material palette for the development have been designed taking the character of the surrounding area into consideration”. I can only assume statements like this were included in a spirit of satire, as there are quite obviously no other seven-storey buildings in the local area, and certainly none of a similar design. The proposal to use the area for social housing is, in itself, to be encouraged. I would, however, be preferable for this to take the form of a “gentle density” estate rather than this excessively large development.

Traffic and parking is already appalling on Fairwater Grove. 7 storeys is not in keeping with this suburb. Flash flooding occurring frequently? drainage can’t cope with the houses now .

At 7 storeys this will be an eye sore and too big for the area. The proposal of retail/business unit is incentive to the area as there is already a shop unit across the road that has periodically stood empty in recent years. Do we not risk having yet another empty unit? The near by streets are already at capacity for resident parking as well as used by commuters driving to the area to use the train. Putting aside the residents that may not have vehicles the workers supporting them and visitors probably will. Surely we risk the introduction of resident permit parking that has increased in recent years in other city suburbs.

With the added housing on one side of the city eg Plas Dwr etc and now these proposed flats, Fairwater and St Fagins have in adequate infrastructures in place to deal with the added traffic, especially with a number of schools in the area. Please don’t do this to our lovely area. #livewhereyoulive

Bring back the local council tip . Awkward driving all the way to Bessemer site. 7 storeys high will be an eyesore and bring extra traffic and pollution.Surely the hundreds of houses being built on Ely papermill site is alone too much for the infrastructure already. This just proves how insensitive, arrogant and ignorant our councillors are ! Consult us, the people !

Please save our recycling depot

It's about time these governments started listen to us people. We want the recycling centre back. No to council flats and more traffic trying to get out of Fairwater is hard enough as it is

Re-open the waste recycling site.

We would like the recycle center opened back up as living in caerau it was local to us and easy accessible

this would be a monstrosity if built, out of all proportion to its surroundings. Perfect example of bad planning.

Using my daughters email as at 88 years of age I dont have one.

We need to stop this
