For end of school year, many classes in watershed communities are planning to use water balloons. Unfortunately, despite much good will, never all shreds get picked up afterwards.

This means, that those said shreds will end up in our waterways as we live in the Santa Monica Mountains watershed which leads into the Pacific Ocean.

This is to demand schools in the Santa Monica Mountain watershed area stop using water balloons on campus as water balloons are not fun if you live in the watershed.

Recent research shows that all ocean animals are polluted with plastic waste and most die of the plastic pollution, affecting seafood consumed by humans. For our very own health alone, we must ban use of water balloons!

There are many alternatives for fun water games, such as d could be dodgeball with wet sponges or relay races.
