For the safety of all kids this must be done. Prayers going out to this little boy and his family.

Speed limit should be lower then 50 km in a residential area where children will be outside playing. That's just common sense!

Speed and reckless driving has been a long standing issue that needs to be addressed.

I am having difficulty understanding the red tape related to this issue. Why can't the city immediately make a decision to reduce the speed to 30 km in this residential area? Why start a petition? What is the criteria for a 30 km zone? I live on a low density populated residential street that is a 30 km zone. How can a high density street like Treetop not be 30 km? So many people that it would only seem logical to have reduced speed in that area. Reduced speed reduces the likelihood of accidents. Again...why can't city council just make this happen? Surely to god they are't going to suggest a traffic study and waste tax payers money on something that is so logical.

I sure hope this is not the level of service that we can expect from a newly formed City Hall. The safety of our children should be foremost on any Councillor's mind. Start a petition Sandy Hickman is a total cop out.

I think all residential streets need those speed bumps on them so people don't have s choice but to slow down!

Please everyone reduce speeds in residential areas so another child doesn't get hurt. Speeding happens daily in my city also (Mount Pearl, Michener Avenue) Hope he feels better quickly :(

Sad when you have to have a petition for something like this. Should be just common sense to reduce the speed limit in a residential area.

It's pretty friggin bad that a petition has to be signed to get the government to do something about safety, like the city worker who told me over the phone that putting up children at play signs will de sensitize drivers????? that we shouldn't tell drivers what they already know ( of course not that's why we have hundreds of different signs reminding them of the rules)
