Please lower the speed limit so another child isn’t hurt.

A call for action is long overdue! Prayers to the family who have initiated this petition due to the lack of action by our municipality in subdivisions like Southlands, Brookfield Plains and many many others. This child deserves your attention. For goodness sake people- slow down!!

Residential areas should have, at the very least, a sign with 'caution children at play' preferably speed bumps as some drivers do not obey signs!!

Hoping for a speedy recovery for your little one. So sad that it had to come to this in order for something to spark with the city.

Our children's safety should ALWAYS be first and foremost. Much more needs to happen to ensure this is always the case!

I live in Torbay. I agree with speed bump because traffic is getting worst and a lot of drivers drive way too much over the speed limits. We need to do whatever we can to protect our kids. We all know kids will be kids. Get well soon sweet boy

I heard about this on VOCM. Absolutely shameful that it takes a petition to protect the safety of children in this province. Now a child has been hurt and what's being done? If a child belonging to any of our elected officials got hit by a vehicle there would be a speed bump in place in 2 seconds.

Speed should be decreased and measures put in place to ensure/enforce. This road is used regularly in morning and evening as a shortcut, with many cars frequently exceeding the speed limit by 10-20km/h, and even in winter when it's dark and roads are narrowed with limited visibility in driveways. Cypress St is a similar situation.

It's time the municipalities and provincial government put their foot down when it comes to the reckless nature most drivers in this province drive with. More needs to be done. Police need more resources, more education for young drivers, mandatory reeducation for older drivers, stiffer penalties for drivers caught speeding in residential areas. I'm surprised there isn't a higher injury/casualty rate.
