Residential areas should not be affected by shelters, for the safety of the children and women.

Shelter should have. a plan of care in place for all its participants.

Keep the homeless shelter out of residential communities. It isn’t safe there.

This will decrease property value, bring higher crime rates and drug abuse to our community. After curfew these people will be roaming the streets I've been around shelters before. Houses have window bars and gates with barbed wire this is no way to live. DO NOT put it on Washington Street.

This household does not want a homeless shelter within a close proximity to our youth. Keep it where it is or look for more suitable locations.

For $900,000 you could make waterstreet beautiful again.! No need for movement leave the slum on the river!

Drug abuse. Emotionally disturbed persons I moved from NYC to a residential area that I feel comfortable taking my children for walks in and letting them play outside. This space is close to schools, playgrounds, and a nature preserve. I’d love to believe that all homeless people just fell down on their luck but that’s not reality.

Don’t do it

Residential houses are across the street. The homeless will be fighting for space on the sidewalk with school children waiting at the bus stop. This belongs in an industrial part of the city.

I’ve been living at this address for 12 years and I love it I wouldn’t want to leave if they do bring the shelter close to me please do not put them close to me

Keep the shelter out of a residential area

Find another suitable shelter outside city limits or close to a hospital setting. Washington street is a main street and too close to homes and schools and parks and downtown. We want Peekskill safe for our citizens and the people who visit to our wonderful city to keep comming to our restauants and theater district and the artist district NOT be afraid to go downtown or to our waterfront. Come on Mayor Rainey, you were elected to represent your city, be a Mayor where ALL peekskill citizens in your town are put FIRST and kept SAFE. Find another remote place or let another town take this shelter/methadone clinic. I don't understand your position or any other elected official for wanting this in our great town. Mayor Catalina built our town to be a "town to be proud to live in" and now the people are coming from all over, and spending money in our establishments. Enjoying Do know that Peekskill was voted as the second town on the Hudson as the best place upcoming town to visit? Do not undo all he has done for our city! Be real, be a Mayor stand up for the majority of our citizens, be respectful of your city! Uphold your duty to us. That's your JOB.

Homeless shelters are crime and drug magnets. This will bring down property values and make it dangerous for families. A high percentage of sex offenders are homeless. This could endanger local children.

I am against it because it’s going to bring the property values down and crime rate up.

Shelter is needed for everyone but not in residential areas... please consider sections that more conducive for more efficient help to the population... the shelter will be directly next door and across the street to the proposed site to residential properties.

Placing 30-40-50 men on any given day into a quiet residential area of the city with 4-5-600 houses within a half-mile radius of 851 Washington St is totally unacceptable. There are a number of school bus stops within sneezing distance of this building. Please! No!

We have 3 children under 5! How can you put a homeless shelter right down the street in a residential area?! Absolutely absurd!

This shelter does not belong in a residential neighborhood. There are other areas much more appropriate for this housing.

My elderly mother lives in this community and I would be concerned for her safety if a homeless shelter is nearby. Housing individuals that have no self interest in the well being of the neighborhood puts the residents at risk and people who are working hard to pay to live in this neighborhood would be forced to live with random strangers that takes a way from the comfort of living in a community with people you are familiar with.
