No shelter close to Blue Mountain Park and in residential area like Washington Street which has so much potential to host much better businesses to spur positive growth in Peekskill!

A number of the homeless often present a danger to those near the Peekskill train station. Putting the home in another location does not solve the problem. Hopefully the current shelter can become a safer place for its residents as part of the continuing restoration of the Riverfront area.

It is indisputable is that having a homeless shelter move to a residential area lowers property values in that area. The closer a home is to the shelter, the bigger the hit. To deny that reality is to deny human nature. It may not be rational, but the effect is real. How would you feel if your home decreased in value by 10/20/30% as the result of such a decision? It's easy to support such a move when it has little effect on you personally. Is it fair to impose it on other people, against their will?

We are directly across the street from the proposed shelter and are firmly against due to the additional possible crime element, trafffic and the fact that it would be in mostly a residential neighborhood.

I think it’s a wrong move bringing the shelter into a highly residential area. Even though it’s mixed residential/commercial area. It’s been at a dead end road for 30 years it should stay that way.

The idea of having a shelter that provides more services for those in need it's great but the location is not appropriate. Let's also keep in mind the safety and well being of our children as well.

Too many beds in the facility and way to close to schools for comfort. No one should be homeless but unfortunately shelters come with many issues.

This is a disgrace of gvt. Stop being so stupid and wasting money that can be used to clean up the riverfront or downtown areas which is what attracts good paying tax payers.
