Subject: A memorandum asking for due justice in the murder of Advocate Palash Kumar Roy.
Dear Madam Prime Minister:
It is with great anguish that we received the news of the death a young and vibrant lawyer, Mr. Palash Kumar Roy of Panchagar. Mr. Roy was a dedicated worker of the Awami League who was a candidate for the position of Vice Chairman the Atwari Upazila. On March 25, 2019, he was imprisoned on false charges. This mild mannered man languished in the jail for almost a month. On April 26, he was set on fire by unknown assailants within the prison compound. The prison authorities neglected to inform his mother, Mrs. Mira Rani, who was an Awami League Woman Vice-Chair of the Atwari Upazila, about the incident. Mr. Palash expired on May 1. According to Mrs. Rani, Mr. Palash had described to her the pre-planned attack before his death. Mr. Palash was an intelligent young man with a great future who wanted to serve the country. It is our sincere request, Your Excellency, that you look into this matter so that justice is done and the culprits of this heinous deed are duly punished.

I have been spending hours reading through your emails and hearing about the anger everyone feels regarding how Palash was treated while in custody. It is honestly overwhelming to see this level of collective grief because the silence from the authorities is just deafening right now. I am working on organizing all the documents to make sure this does not just disappear into a folder on some desk somewhere.

I honestly did not think this would gain this much traction and seeing so many people pay attention to what happened to Palash is actually overwhelming. It is strange how a situation that felt so isolated and ignored at first is suddenly being seen by so many of you and I keep thinking if he could see this support he would probably be so shocked.

It is a heinous crime and violation of International Law. Bangladesh, member country of UN should take immediate action for such killing in the jail. I remember the killing of our four national leaders in the jail.
Justice should be done to late Mr. Palash's family and the culprits and their mastermind/mentors also should be brought to justice.

How many times more we have to prove ourselves as a barbaric nation with failed administration and criminal members of security forces? Days are gone of claiming “all cannot be blamed for the crime of few”. It is time Gov’t fixes it by exemplary punishment of the criminals.
Demand Justice for Mr. Palash. Demand Justice every incident. Justice NOT served means, there is NO existence of Justice, Government or Administration
Justice must be serve, otherwise criminal crossing the limits.

It was a preplanned murder with the help of government forces, officials and agencies. As because he was an activist against the torture, persecution, discriminations are going on religious minorities in Bangladesh.
