The Bangladesh Nightmare Cannot Be Ignored

My heart is broken and my conscience is outraged. I cannot stay silent while a three-year-old girl in Bangladesh waits for her father, who was burned alive in front of thousands of people filming and posting it live on social media.

On 18 December 2025 in Mymensingh, Bangladesh, 27-year-old Dipu Chandra Das was forcibly dragged from his workplace by a violent mob in the presence of police, based on a false, malicious rumor of “Blasphemy!” He was brutally beaten, killed, hanged from a tree, and astonishingly his body was set on fire.

Dipu was a hardworking man, the sole bread earner of his family. Allegations were fabricated, though he was completely innocent. His murder was a terrifying incident in the history of mankind—awaiting justice to be served.

This was not an isolated incident. Just days later, on 24 December 2025, Amrit Mondol (29) was beaten to death by a mob in Rajbari. These killings reflect a disturbing and growing pattern of systematic sectarian violence in Bangladesh.

Religious minorities—particularly Hindus—are now living in constant fear. When a person can be publicly murdered based on a rumor, and when the state fails to prevent such crimes or prosecute those responsible, the rule of law collapses. Murder becomes normalized!

We would like to respectfully request the people and the Government of the United States.

We humbly seek the attention of President Donald J. Trump.

  • Please condemn the violence and seek justice for Dipu Chandra Das.
  • Work to stop mob lynchings and protect Hindus and other religious minorities in Bangladesh.
  • Collaborate with local organizations to ensure legal and financial assistance for families devastated by these horrendous acts.

We cannot bring back Dipu das! And cannot erase the trauma suffered by his family. But we can ensure justice, and that the international community acts before more lives are lost.

Please sign and share this petition. Stand with us to demand justice, accountability, and the protection of the fundamental right to life for all people in Bangladesh—regardless of faith.

A mob confronted Dipu at his workplace, beat him severely, killed him, and then hung his body from a tree and set it on fire. The incident triggered national and international concern about mob violence and the safety of religious minorities, particularly Hindus, in Bangladesh.

Unfair attitude by the MOB with a very hard working family responsible parent like DIPU Das . These socalled MOB should bring under justice right way .

The silence from many self-proclaimed intellectuals is troubling. They are vocal when tragedies affect certain communities, yet remain quiet when a Hindu is killed. If empathy is selective, it loses its moral credibility.

"Global civilization is at risk if we remain silent against religious mob justice. We cannot afford to repeat the tragedies of the past, such as the burning of Nalanda; we must protect our collective future from the fires of extremism."

In Bangladesh, minorities and indigenous peoples are subjected to regular and severe abuses such as rape, killings, looting, and kidnappings. Their land is being systematically seized, and they are being forcibly converted into other religion , which has further intensified the persecution of minority communities. At one time, minorities made up around 28 percent of Bangladesh’s population, but today this figure has fallen to below 8 percent. We who still remain in Bangladesh want to live safely and with dignity on our own land. For this reason, we seek the support of the international community. Please save us.
