Wanke has recently completed the lottery for kinder dual language for the 2016-2017 school year. With this outcome, for the first time in Wanke dual language history 2 siblings of older dual language students did not make it into the program. Please provide your signature if you were told or under the impression that siblings had priority in the program.

Updates

June 2, 2016

I have been hearing from so many of you who thought the policy was written in stone and honestly the confusion is just as frustrating as the outcome itself. I am still waiting to hear back from the office about why the rules shifted so abruptly but I am not holding my breath while I keep gathering these names.

My older daughter is currently in the program and we were told her younger sister would have a spot. How am I supposed to drive to two different schools or manage two totally different schedules now?

Have two sons in Wanke's dual program, very happy about it. Have a third sibling (daughter 4 yrs old) to follow her brothers hopefully in the same program.

This is a great program to be involved in. Part of what makes it great is that the teaching team recognizes that family participation and commitment is key for a child's success in this program. By dividing the time the family can spend assisting each child you limit their chance for success. Thank you for bringing this issue to light so that we can continue to help our children do well in the dual language program.

Siblings should have priority. Not allowing her to continue on the dual language courses is taking education away from her

It's not fair for 1 sibling to get in and not the other. Especially when told it would work that way. Stick to your word.
