I bought land on the river because it was remote and natural and clean I feel this smelter would change all of that as well as lower my property value. I would not want my children fishing and playing that close to a smelter

My family has spent decades hiking, boating, camping and mt biking in the Newport and surrounding areas-It would be an absolute travesty if this Foreign company's toxic Smelter was allowed to pollute and destroy this pristine natural area's air, forests, rivers, streams and lakes. The few jobs this smelter would create is not worth the destruction of this beautiful area. HiTest Sands smelter already polluted Moses Lake. We don't want it here!

I am opposed to the building and operating of a Newport area smelter due to the propensity it has on negatively impacting property value and local residents health until further studies can be executed that ensure the lack of negative impacts.
