I value the health and the lives of the people who live, work, play, educate, study, and visit our state, and know that our security is threatened in an unreasonable manner by the very idea of placing such a smelter here, Do not allow HI Test Sand to continue their preparatory work.

I moved up to Newport from Bakersfield California 30 years ago to be near my siblings. I am a firm believer the smelter should be built where the earth is already damaged. Our way of life would be wiped out of this smelter is allowed to be built here.

I live east of Newport in the beautiful North Idaho Panhandle. Whatever happens in Newport happens here. Please don't allow this smelter to be built. It will damage air and water quality thus quality of life in both NE Washington and NW Idaho.

I live in Idaho in the path of the prevailing winds. This smelter would be a detriment to the entire area.

I am opposed to the smelter. It will have a detrimental effect on local wildlife including the wolf which is protected in Wa state.

My family camps in the area many times every summer. If this goes through and a polluting smelter is built we will not spend one penny in the area. Newport and is a beautiful community, I hope it stays that way.

Please build away from schools and public areas. I’m all for making jobs in the area but this is going to affect people’s properties and risk the health and wellbeing of our youth.
