Go build a town in the middle of nowhere including wells and electric plants, and call it "Smelterville" and then hire the people who are willing to move there... It takes money to make money. Let's not risk the lives of unwitting innocents in the process.

Seems illogical to locate this facility so close to town, elevating risk to a community in the event of failure.

No Smelter! I am totally shocked that anyone would support this; bringing in an industry polluter to a recreational area and thinking it's a good thing

My family has enjoyed the Newport area for generations. We hike, boat, camp, swim and Mt. Bike in this very special part of WA State. This pristine and beautiful environment, the wildlife and most importantly, the residents deserve to be protected from the harm and devastation this foreign company will cause to North Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho. The air, water and soil will be polluted for generations to come. Once the environment is destroyed, it will never come back. The local citizens, including Spokane, WA do not want this smelter - it will destroy is!

The smelter should be required to be placed somewhere that doesn't impact natural resources.

Shame on all those trying to push this through. The Almighty Buck isn't worth ruining our environment, health and well being. Gov. Inslee - please step in and Help!

I definitely oppose this smelter. It will ruin the environment, cause massive health issues, etc. Canadian Prime minister is ok with with destroying their environment..so Hi Test..go back to Canada.

I oppose the adverse environmental impact to one of the most beautiful areas in the world. The natural beauty of the Newport/ Colville/ Bonner County areas is why we all have moved here. This will not only destroy property values, but also negatively impact both our help and the natural habitat around us.

It is utterly disgraceful and despicable to put a smelter directly upwind from some of the most beautiful land, communities, and resorts in the entire country.

I have lived in this county since 1968 and have several generations of family living here now. The last thing I want is a mill of any sort that is only going to pollute this area any worse than it is. It is a no brainer that this smelter needs to locate back in Canada. OR, if our governor thinks it is such a special deal, put it in his backyard. So, NO THANKS hi test.
