I do my bit but am aghast at how so many people just litter the streets with wrappers, plastic bags, take away containers and dog poo bags!!

The environment and recycling should be at the forefront of Wandsworth Council’s plans for the borough. It is a disgrace that food waste is not included in the recycling.

Wandsworth Council should stop parading around about low council tax and actually put its money where it's mouth is and DO something with our money.

So important to increase Wandsworth's recycing rate, shameful that only 22% is recycled

It's not difficult. Less worry about 'lowest council tax' and more concern about long-term costs would be good to be seen, especially from a Council which has had a decades-long monopoly of municipal power.

1. Provide better quality recycling bags
2. Ensure that refuse collectors take all bags on collection day (they are often fussy).
3. Write to residents who are not using recycling bags and urge them to do (does Council have power to fine?).
4. Increase the opening hours of the recycling/refuse facility in Wandsworth

Recycling is very important but we must have the right bags and enough of them to be able to do it successfully.

I had no idea that our local authority was doing so badly, everybody in the community needs to support them and recycle more

Agree particularly re food waste management. I’d also love to see communal garden waste recycling in the borough’s green spaces if that’s viable:

we need to increase the amount of things that can be recycled; eg plastic bags, food waste etc.

Separating recycling into clear plastic sacks is pointless since the refuse men chuck them all in same side of the truck. It’s just Wishcycling :-(

Just 22 percent is a disgrace and demonstrates a total lack of commitment to one of the most important issues facing the world
