I have lived in this part of town for quite a long time. There were already a couple of clubs here, such as Palaza and Velvet Lounge, some even on the same street. They did a very good job of containing the sound.
I really don’t mind if there is a club, but I do care when it starts negatively affecting my life, and the noise pollution from this club is excessive.
My main questions are:
-Why couldn’t the owner install proper soundproofing before opening the club?
-What can one realistically expect when operating a loud sound system outdoors?
-What about people living in the old age home?
Even if the club is located in a business district, there are still rules that must be followed, especially since the noise is clearly spilling over into nearby residential areas.
Just as having a driver’s licence does not allow me to ignore road regulations, having a business licence for a logistics company does not give me the right to park my trucks anywhere I please. The same principle applies here: there are rules and regulations to follow.
Some things are common sense. Then again, “common” might be a stretch.
It’s actually very sad that it had to go this far.

I support more stricter regulations and measures to ensure all parties benefit, if need be, they should have the building soundproofed so that they can continue earning revenue, offering entertainment and the community as a whole can all benefit.

Nightclubs belong in the industrial area of town, especially if no sound proofing
has been taken into consideration to respect the neighbourhood and existing businesses in the area.

I am residing at 66 Theo Ben Gurirab Street. We reside very close to Lavine Lounge.
The volume of the music coming from Lavine Lounge is unbearable. I also feel so sorry for the residents who resides very close to Lavine Lounge.
It is unacceptable to be treated like this by Walvis Bay. There is no respect or compassion for all the residents in this area who are affected.
The owners of Lavine Lounge are untouchable, reason for my saying this is. It seems to me the volume of the music is louder. They just don't care.
We are tired on a Sunday morning when we get ready to go to church. What about the people who must earn their daily bread. How productive are they? All because of sleepless nights caused by Lavine Lounge.
Please help put an end to this noise pollution!!!
Please do something!
Regards
Belinda Taylor

The main point and question is how it was allowed to setup a club or discotheque inside a tent in the backyard without any soundproofing in the middle of town, something pathetic in 2025-26.

The noise coming from the Lounge is excrutiating for the people living in the area. The Old Age Home is also situated in the same area.

Noise from the bar until late night. Even on Sundays.
