I am starting this program and it scares me a bit to know I may have to repeat a course because of 2 exams.

100% agree. These exams are extremely difficult and should not dictate so much of the grade. With all of the other required course work/hours, it basically is setting students up for failure. I was also considering a transfer because of this.

I haven’t gotten that far yet but I’m in support of the petition. The example given about getting
100% on everything except the exams and then fail the class should not be acceptable because this school is already too expensive for anyone to repeat a class.

This has been true throughout my time at Walden. I have contemplating moving schools whom does exam weight differently and overall feedback much better becauSe of this...

It was very unfair to allow some sections a curved grade while others were not allowed any change at all.

This trend starts in the core classes and gets worse toward the end of the program. Upper management of the PMHNP program: please take these exams yourself and see what we mean! Help us learn what we are doing wrong on these exams so that we can be successful in the program. Post grade distributions so we can see that the exams are fair. Don't just assume that "these students today are just academically weak." Many of us have excelled academically in the past only to find ourselves hitting a wall with THIS program. High failure rates do not equal academic rigor.

The best part is where you mention that high failure rate should indicate that either the instruction or the test is inadequate. Smart students, with a history of high performance, studying very hard, should be able to succeed.

There are a number of issues with the test to include some answers are incorrect, some are misworded, and there were even non-psychopharmacology mixed in. In addition, there should be a forum to discuss and evaluate these tests. They have not been updated in a number of years. There is outdated information. Please help us to have a program that we can be proud of.

I fully agree with this petition. The exams carry too much weight. This has to change!

They need to lower the weight of the exams . It is extremely stressful and you put a lot of energy time into discussions and papers for only 10 pts .
