We expect alot for our money and the welcome the hard work and extreme effort it has taken us to keep our high GPAs; that is what grad school is about. However, this has changed once we started taking these high weighted midterms and final exams. The focus is now on writing exceptional papers and discussion posts to off set what will surely be a low or failing grade on the test. Please adjust the weight percentage of the tests.

We are all working adult and it is unfair that we are having more busy work than having time to understand the material . The tests are not testing our knowledge but become a challenge to see if we can pass the course

I passed boards and will be a PMHNP-BC before the end of the year. My scores on all other exam prep materials were 20-30% higher than Walden exams. Fear of insufficient knowledge (based on test scores) lead to my decision to drop out for a year. Little did I know that I was actually scoring in the upper range compared to my peers (per online forums). Consider your drop out rate, loss of $, reduced prestige, and perhaps fewer students willing to apply.

I agree...All that work on the digital labs....4 of THEM....only worth 20%. SEVEN ASSIGNMENTS & only worth 20%...and TWO DISCUSSIONS WORTH 10%.....how is that FAIR!!!!

I agree. The exams Walden give are nearly unpassable. When asked what we should focus on, all we get is read all of the assigned chapters or some other unprofessional rely. Well, no kidding! Is there anywhere in those chapters that we should read more closely? All we get is read all 700 pages (or whatever unreasonable amount of pages there are). I stir people away from Walden due to this reality.

I agree, the weight of test grades on the students overall grade is ridiculous. A student can have a very high A average and do well in clinical and still fail the class if they do not do so well on the tests. The student is not given appropriate study material for the tests; the school states all information is fair game. These classes cost a lot of money and the students do not want to fail because of the weight placed on the tests. Please consider decreasing the test weights.

Agree! 6670 the 2 exams account for 50% of the overall grade. The lowest score I have recieved on a written assignment is 98.5%, my grade is 71.2% currently. Frustrating to say the least anx worried I will have to repeat the class with no idea what areas I didn’t do well on.

I don't understand how these 2 exams can be weighted as they are either. I have been an A student throughout and because of my exam grades in 6660 I ended up with a C. I want to know what I have missed and why I have missed them. This does not help me learn at all.

There are recent suits against Walden that question their motives with these practices. I encourage anyone who feels they have been wronged to file a Borrower Defense to Loan Repayment with the Department of Education. If it starts hitting them in the wallet they may change their tune.

If you feel Walden has misguided you, misrepresented anything or committed some other wrong you can pursue a "Borrower Defense to Loan Repayment" with the US Department of Education (ttps://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/sites/default/files/borrower-defense-application.pdf). This document is a petition to excuse your student loans and will trigger an investigation of Walden's practices. They have been sued in the past for deceptive practices and the more complaints the DOE gets the more likely they are to investigate and punish Walden if wrongdoing is uncovered.

I have been am "A" student all through nursing school. Theses exams my "A" dropped to a low C in 1 test. In other prep test there is a pattern to my wrong answers. with Walden test we do not know. Place a higher value on Board vitals, provide different study test for us, but 44% of our grade on 2 test which we cannot learn from is not n appropriate way to teach, it is a way to fail student and force them to pay again to take the class and make Walden more money!!

Grading from an instructor can take several weeks with very little feedback on what we need to change for our next assignments. The feedback gives verbal cues, although no insight to which sentence, paragraph or citation that is wrong.
