I am the parent and/or guardian of a current Walden 1st grader and I support four (4) sections for 2nd Grade for the following 2019-2020 school year.

The level of participation surrounding the request for four classrooms has grown significantly. This momentum demonstrates that a large portion of our community shares the goal of maintaining smaller class sizes for our children.

I am concerned that with 24 kids in the small classrooms the kids will not have space to move and work in collaborative work environments. Unless we are going to increase the classroom space, I don’t see how 24 bodies in a class can work.
That student teacher ratio is not acceptable. CPS has better ratios as do all the other schools and grades in 109.

My son is already struggling with the noise level this year and next year with 24 kids it will be impossible to focus. We need 4 classes to keep the environment manageable.
