I'm all for labor unions protecting the rights of its members. Without them, we'd still have child labor abuse and horrible working conditions, BUT our ACTORS' UNION IS NOT representing the interests of its LA actor membership by tampering with the current 99 Seat Theater Agreement, and proposing a new plan, that in all likelihood, could veritably DESTROY LA THEATER, one of the healthiest and most vital on our planet. We have enuff problems around the globe, Actors' Equity, so please don't create another one, especially when, in your working members' opinions, it is totally UNNECESSARY to do so!!

As someone who has worked in both Equity houses and Equity Waiver houses here in Los Angeles as an actor, I can say this is a serious "misjudgement" on my union's part (of which I'm proud to be a member).

99 seat Equity waiver theatre is where risk and progress happen. It is vital to our art form. Destroying it would have serious negative impact on the type of plays that would be selected for production. LA has more than enough commercial theatre to serve its population. The Los Angelinos have always supported experimental, forward-looking live performance. Please don't restrict the unique artistic sensibility of this city.

I want to help AEA union members continue to come together for their love of the craft and to share new stories with audiences in LA under the 99-Seat Plan.

There are MANY other solutions. Completely eliminating the 99-Seat Plan is unnecessary, and I do not hesitate to state that is indeed against the wishes of most Los Angeles-based theatre actors.

I'm a sister Union member; as such, have been compensated under the current 99 seat plan. Expect the proposed changes would effect me via reciprocity.

The AEA proposal is a huge mistake with devastating consequences.
