At times like this the profession will be hit hard not just the interim Covid19 crisis but for the coming years. Many Osteopaths will have to rebuild their practices from scratch.

I am outraged by the lack of communication from our governing body at such a crucial time for its members. Even a message to say 'Watch this space' would have been something. Leaving such a big gap leaves the imagination to make up stories of overwhelmed people, lack of teamwork, leadership and frankly lack of compassion. The virus doesn't take the weekend off. And neither have the osteopaths being challenged by their patients who are asking searching questions of their decisions to stay open - I can only point them to my own statement based on limited information.
Now for the compassionate bit from me. Please, come forth and speak what you know. It's a time for clear seeing, straight talking, taking responsibility for our ills, our ignorance, our disconnection from healthy ways of being. Let's be together.

GOsC claimed that they were in London to be close to MPs (My cohort will verify this statement) Yet we're disregarded, no real lobbying or progress is evident. Suspend our fees, move up North where it's cheaper to run your services & pass us on to HCPC.

Please waive these fees and provide clear guidance and advice to those registered regarding expectations for ceasing or maintaining their businesses. This is currently lacking.

York is largely unaffected in terms of cases but the patient numbers have dropped by more than half this week, and almost non next week. No on is rebooking. A break on paying subs would enable overheads to be met more easily, I appreciate you have overheads too, many osteopaths I speak to believe GOsC should move to a property with lower overheads outside of London rather than being in the city.

My practice which supports 5 very hard working Osteopaths closed yesterday due to Coronavirus & the risk it poses to our patients, us and our loved ones. We have zero income as of today.

Any financial help would be welcomed considering we won’t be earning for an indefinite amount of time.
