VP Community - Elect MOTIONS OF NO CONFIDENCE
Students must provide their FULL NAME and i******* or s******* number.
This is due to the candidates having several complaints against them for co-campaigning with another candidate and paying people to campaign for them.
This directly affects not only us, but future students and creates an unsafe environment that someone who could be seen as such a role model does not understand their behaviour as being unacceptable.
MOTIONS OF NO CONFIDENCE OR CENSURE9.1. A motion of no confidence may be raised in relation to the actions, past or present, and/or stated intentions of Union Officers or Trustees.
9.2. If a petition is signed on-line by 25 students requiring a vote of no confidence in an Officer or a Trustee then the motion will be put to the next General Meeting as described in Schedule 9. Such a motion does not require a proposer and seconder.
9.3. For such a motion to be passed, a two-thirds majority of those present and entitled to vote at the General Meeting must vote in favour of it.
9.4. A motion of Censure shall relate to a specific incident in which a Union Officer has been involved and shall be recorded in the minutes

The amount of feedback rolling in is honestly blowing my mind because it feels like people are finally realizing why we need to act now. I did not imagine this would strike such a nerve but seeing this momentum makes me realize we are actually on track to force a conversation about these ethics.

I7214976 Him and his fellow companion was very persitant on changing votes and stopping me by standing infeont of me. Although this is a university election this is still Harrasment non the less
What is very concerning too is the elections committee disqualified those three, yet the committee that overturned the disqualifications had two members that themselves were re-running for positions, seems a bit double standard to do. Who were the people that were chosen to be in that committee and are they affiliated with the candidates that were disqualified?
The candidate who won had been caught cheating? But still was given the role! Bad example to set for everyone within the Bu community
i7442826 ; why does subu even bother calling their elections "democratic" when it allows people who cheat to participate? I have no idea how the disqualification was overturned, but it makes a joke of the system.
Cheating should not be accepted or supported by our students union. For someone to not only spend over their assigned budget and pay people to campaign and face no reprucussions despite having been disqualified it is disgusting. SUBU should not be supporting cheating when it is so blatantly obvious. This candidate is not suitable tonne a part of the team.

People who have cheated their way to victory should not be rewarded with getting the role. It sets a really bad standard for SUBU to the rest of the student unions. If everyone had the opportunity the winner had, the voting may have been very different.
