The PSO should pay the musicians as full time employees and not as a per service orchestra . The very talented men and women deserve fair compensation.

How the musicians of the Pacific Symphony Orchestra impact all ages of our Orange County community is beyond measure, but they are a valued and treasured part of the fabric of our lives in Orange County. That they are not paid competitive wages in our community, and within their own, is beyond belief. Please do what is right and honor these outstanding musicians and public servants of the arts with a salary that is competitive and affords them the ability to continue entertaining, enlightening, and educating our community.

Please pay these fine musicians a wage that's fair and in line with their peers in other cities. It's almost embarrassing that they're payed so little in an area like OC, where the money exists. This isn't rocket science and the musicians and the community deserve better.

I played in this orchestra from its early days until 1991. I believe it is high time for the board make the commitment to raise sufficient funds to pay the players a true "living wage". The players deserve your financial support.
