The fact they went ahead ratifying the changes ignoring the public response shows how disgusting they are in insulting the people of this island's opinion and of democracy.

I think on the larger more open roads this will cause untold frustration. People will be driving too close to one another when impatience sets in which I believe it will. Most areas that already have sensibly zoned 25mph limits and need them one would stick to easily. This wont stop those who dont drive carefully normally.

There is argument for some 'tweaking' but not 80 roads, and not with a 'round 2' to follow.

I thought the illusion of choice only happened in America and the UK but obviously not, you can choose but we have made our decision already?!?!
There is really no need to reduce the speed, around schools is fair enough but 35mph on the coast is painful enough, but to make half of the island 25mph combined with the amount of traffic lights is just too much.

It seems we have reached a point where our current deputies and states members no longer listen to the opinions of the people and seem to simply apply their votes to actions that suit their own agendas. I feel we have been left with a classic "You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours" system of voting.

I appreciate a reduction around school areas, but to do this island wide in 35 areas, is just silly. Our fatality rate is very small and is not there because of a speed limit, it's down to individuals who speed regardless of limits.
My concern is that this is a ploy to make money, as more people will be stopped along coastal roads, which is painful to drive at 25mph by the way, as I have been practising to see how it would be out of these summer months and it's ridiculous. People will end up being stopped more once this change has been made, which will only lead to FINES, which will help fill this disappearing money pot .. it makes me suspicious about the motives on this change. It's not necessary.

It's pointless being a council member, if you're not willing to listen to the majority concerns of your constituents!

Please save the budget. A waste of time and unnecessary bureaucracy. This was not a democratic decision.
