Why ask the public their opinion if you just turn around and do exact opposite? The whole idea is a complete nonsense.... mind you, I guess the money you will make in speeding fines will make you feel vindicated. I’m also sure the police have better ways to spend their time....

Another unwise and unwanted decision made by a handful with misplaced authority, (who may favour this decision for personal reasons), but affects the majority of islanders who have already voiced this decision is unacceptable. I believe this decision will cause traffic jams, frustrated drivers taking chances or at the very least with road rage and ultimately an increase in accidents. Another short-sighted decision not thought through!! In addition there will be at least two signs erected in each of the roads (one each end and maybe more), so 160-200 extra road signs on our pretty country roads and lanes will be such an eyesore and once again change the face of our unique little island to be more like an English town which is not acceptable to the majority of Guernsey-born people.

These Deputies should listen to,the people of Guernsey, they are not in their position merely to impose their will upon us.

I thought the e&i had a duty of care to the environment, hence name, however lowering the speed limit will surely release more emissions, hence damaging the environment, guess the States just want more money in the pot from speeding fines and sod the ozone layer eh....

Totally do not agree to reducing the speed limit. When will the States actually listen to people, instead of just doing what they like as per usual and making life as difficult as possible for the motorist.

this is what I have come to expect from Guernsey States - non-democratic self gratifying bunch of what's in it for me's. If I got on my soap box I would have a lot more to say. As for the 25mph limits, whilst people with cars pay a fortune to go on the roads and in modern cars, even 35mph is stupid with the stopping distances of modern cars, we should have limit of, a minimum of 40mph, except near schools and hospitals. At 25mph trasffic will be, overtaken by bikes, who are allways breaking the speed limit. The other thing you all want to take into account is how many more pigs will be waiting to pounce on you for speeding.

Although some roads would benefit from a speed reduction the proposal is ridiculous

Absolute garbage traffic calming can only be achieved by enforcement of physical barriers. This just about a career politician seeking popularity who like his supporters in the States are not worthy of reallection
