Vote No - Sigwalt Apartments, 11 Variances Too Many

I just moved to Arlington Heights last summer. Totally enjoying the walkability factor and our beautiful downtown. However, we are already building apartments on Dunton Avenue, just the other side of the tracks. I agree with slowing the process down just a bit to thoroughly think every aspect of this through....and its impact on traffic, schools, parking, residents home values, etc.

This is essentially the same building that was denied in October by the Village Board. THE BUILDING IS STILL TOO BIG, TOO DENSE, TOO TALL, NON-COMPLIANT, NON-HARMONIOUS AND NON-COMPATIBLE WITH THE SURROUNDING NEIGHBORHOOD.

VOTE NO!! This would need to provide parking for all its residents. The area is already congested with cars and commuters and local homeowners shouldn't have to fight for parking with all of these new units.

This development is too large, too dense at this point.

As neighbors to the Block 425 parcel for the past 20 years, we look forward to having the parcel responsibly developed for the better of the community and its residents. We are pro-development, but are opposed to development for development’s sake. We do not see the current plans for this property to be fitting to the site or the community. The proposed apartment building is too large for the site, and not compatible to the surrounding properties, as evidenced by the developers request for numerous and egregious variations to the building and zoning code. Please deny the current application and seek a more fitting use and design for this very important parcel of land in our village.

This project in no way supports the Village of Arlington Heights and our values.

I don't think it would be good for the community to have more apppartments. It also wouldn't be good for property values. I think that land should be used for more business and restaurants, to attract more people to visit and bring in more revenue for our town.

No more large structures. Think of your school system. Think of the traffic and roads.

This is a repulsive slap-in-the-face of current residents in the neighborhood, for so many reasons. The design alone contributes nothing but another ugly, outdated structure to downtown. This would be taking a step in the wrong direction. Aside from that, Sigwalt street would become even busier, and for those of us with children, this is highly concerning. If this passes, we will be moving immediately. I only hope this doesn’t sink our home value, and detour people from moving so close to downtown (which it will.) Think about the people in the neighborhood. This has the makings for a big mistake.
