Vote NO on Utah SB182 & HB235!

Law makers should completely understand the issue before trying to make laws about it. This bill has it totally wrong. You would detrimentaly effect bloggers.

This bill is short-sighted for a state that wants to encourage small businesses. With a surplus last year, this desperate move seems more about making a statement at the expense of work at home moms.

If these bills pass, I would lose nearly all of my income. I could not remain a Utah resident and would have to move to another state.

I oppose this bill!

This is getting ridiculous

This is something that needs taken care of on a federal level so that small businesses like mine do not suffer. Affiliate marketers who make money online will lose their income, and the state will lose our income tax that they would have otherwise received. It benefits no one.

This bill would affect my business by decreasing the amount of money I earn. As we've seen with other states that have passed a bill similar to this, what will happen is many of the large affiliates I work with will stop working with Utah businesses and we would no longer be able to be affiliates. The amount of money we earn from our business will then also decrease.

This bill would be devastating to my online business.

These two bills will affect my small business revenue adversely. They are written broadly and it seems without a grasp of who they are actually affecting.

This issue needs to be addressed on a national level so hard working, small business owners in Utah aren't excluded from being an affiliate while small business in other states benefit.

This bill would likely reduce our business revenues by 50 to 70%. If this is passed, we will likely move our businesses and our residence to a more welcoming state. And if I were to happen, The more than one dozen employees that we have in the state of Utah would need to find work elsewhere,

Please vote NO on Utah SB182 & HB235 The authors are not aware of the accurate workings of Affiliate Marketing. Affiliate Marketing is not an employee relationship. It is an advertisement relationship. Affiliate Marketers are not a storefront. They do not carry inventory, they do not sell goods, they do not ship goods. They are advertisers for businesses. If these bills pass: 1. This bill will personally affect my family's income and my ability to run my small business. 2. If passed I will lose 25% of my income. 3. I will lose my ability to share money saving tips and methods to help other Utah families stretch their budgets to save money on necessities so they have more money to spend IN UTAH. 4. 10,000 families/small business owners in Utah will be directly harmed if this bill passes. Not to mention all the extra families that will be harmed if those small businesses go out of business. 5. I personally rely on other small businesses in Utah that use Affiliate marketing at a greater level to help save money for our family's necessities. Thus that allows me to save money and I am free to use the money I save to enjoy more benefits to shopping in Utah. Money that I spend at local Utah Businesses such as Zoos, Museums, Small businesses in Utah, Farmer's Markets, food trucks and more! 6. If this bill passes I will have less income to spend at local UTAH businesses thus hurting the Utah Economy. 7. As history has shown in other states such as California, Illinois and New York and Vermont, if this bill is passed with the current language, these affiliate networks will not collect taxes. They will close up shop and leave Utah small businesses out of work. These families and small businesses will no longer make an income. Thus a greater loss of taxes collected to the State of Utah. 8. These families will have less income to spend on goods in Utah, thus further harming the Utah economy. PLEASE vote NO on these bills!!! This will hurt

Don't put small business out of work. Take the time to understand the bill!

HB 235 will devastate my online business by causing companies to pull the programs for affiliates in Utah.

This is a bad choice for our state.

This bill doesn't make sense. The State won't make any money because Amazon will just end their relationship with bloggers so they don't have to charge sales tax and then the State won't get the revenue from the blogger's income. Sounds like a lose-lose proposition.

This bill will not only affect my family but all of my blog readers as well!! 10,000 families in Utah will be harmed if this bill passes. Please vote "no"!
