I do not feel that this bill should be passed. As a homeowner in Kane county I pay such a large percent of my schools budget in property taxes already that taking away the small percent that is paid by the state is unfair to my children and u fair to me as a homeowne. I can not afford to pay more tax then I already am and if this is passed my taxes may go up and make it difficult for me to stay living in Kane.

As a retired Special Education teacher, of 35 years, I am supposed to this legislation for many reasons. Cuts to Special Education programs and funding, pensions and funding of school district large and small. As a veteran, I did take advantage of the military buy back including all the interest of 15 to 20 years. This having come from investments which because of my age I was penalized for having to cash in. Was it worth it? YES. Thank you for taking your stand against this Bill.

If this passes we will be looking at reduction of programming for students. This is unfair to the students. Children's education should be the #1 priority.

It is time for the Chicago politicians to stop expecting the rest of the state to pay their bills. The current state of funding for education in IL is atrocious. SB16 makes a bad situation worse. Don't punish our children for the mistakes made by politicians.

Too bad the Senate passed this bill. They have proven that they do not care about the student, only their vested interests politically, regardless of how the constituency feels about increased taxes and declining education quality to come due to the overcrowding of classrooms.

Senate Bill 16 is wrong and should not be passed by Congress. This bill takes about money needed for the school district I work for, which ultimately affects the chiildren and their learning.
