Maplewood needs to remain an elementary school. Keep the kids local.

Maple wood was my greatest childhood memory and it started with the fantastic teachers. I hope you guys don't rob other students of those core memories growing up.

I think that option one makes the most sense. The whole idea is pretty silly to keep kids together k=12. you are not allowing for children to change and grow and learn to adapt. my daughter who graduated from Sylvania schools went to high school with only three classmates from grade school. She was able to fit in because we as parents helped her also.

I strongly dislike Option 3 for many reasons. Splitting the district in two and basically creating 2 school districts. Too many transitions. And finally the loss of an elementary school.

Leaving the schools the way they now. Just change the schools border lines.

Option #3 is a complete change of the education system that the Sylvania community and families have entrusted to the school district. The initial goals of saving money on transportation and balancing enrollment no longer seems to be guaranteed with Option 3. There are more questions than answers given to support this change, and it will be a huge disruption for many, many students.

The original purpose of redistricting was to save money on busing and to balance enrollment. Option # 3 does neither. The district will now be spending money to alter Maplewood, a beautiful new building that was built to be an elementary school. Option #3 does not guarantee that elementary class sizes will be smaller. Our teachers do a wonderful job educating our students. These are teachers that have spent years honing their skills at a grade level they love. They are members of a grade level team that work together to do the best possible job for their students. Option #3 will dismantle these teams that have dedicated themselves to our Maplewood students. Our school will be broken apart and our students will be bused across town. How can this provide the best education for our students? Option #3 unnecessarily spends taxpayer dollars and accomplishes nothing.
Option #1 is the only choice!

The cost of turning Maplewood into a Jr High would be astronomical. It's been the heart of Sylvania forever!

Driving small children from the northwest side of Sylvania, past at least two other schools to take them to Whiteford is ridiculous.
1. Address issues at Whiteford, why do people move to keep their kids out of Whiteford?
2. You might get further with Maplewood area parents if this were at least being done fairly, Maplewood kids lose not only their school but the opportunity to attend a school even remotely close to where they live

I chose to live in the Maplewood district-- please choose option #1. I always vote to support our schools, don't make me regret it.

Maplewood ELEMENTARY School is one of the best kept secrets in Sylvania because of the dedicated teachers, staff, and students. Why would you want to change that? If the school board is making choices for the "good of the students ", is requiring them to move to 4 different schools for their education, really for the "good of those children?" Maplewood is a new school. When voters cast their vote for a new school, did they know they were voting to spend more money to change it in 6 years?

I don't need my kid going to junior high across town! 5 through 8 at Arbor Hills was the better way to go.
