We need to do what's best for kids. Right now, it doesn't sound as if the redistricting task force doesn't have a solid rationale for why this option would be best for kids.

I live in Brint Crossings and we will get moved no matter what but option 1 is better for us then 3.

I cannot vote for an option that has my kids on the bus for as long as they would be to go across town. I don't want to put teachers out of a job or in a school they aren't used to. Maplewood has become a family to us and I cannot imagine my boys anywhere else.

Maplewood strong!!! Let's stand together like we always have. We just bought our house here based on Maplewood and I would be crushed to lose it so soon. Please have a heart school board....leave us alone!!

It seems that Option 1 is the clearer, more cost effective choice. It hasn't changed since the beginning whereas I cannot remember the initial draft of Option 3 nor the current draft. If it's too confusing, it's not worth doing.

Both of my boys attended Maplewood, AH and Nv. We live on Erie St, just down the street from Maplewood. Maintaining it as K-5 is vital to the downtown Sylvania area. Changing it would mean a wrong answer to a problem that has better solutions. It's disturbing to imagine students switching schools that many times. I am a parent of a child with anxiety, and that would have been extremely detrimental to him. I believe families would be willing to vote on building another school as a better option.

As a retired Sylvania teacher, a Maplewood staff member for over twenty years, a parent to three adult children who attended Sylvania Schools, and a current member of the Sylvania community, I urge the school board and the redistricting committee to reconsider option #3. Maplewood has long been known as the "best kept secret" in Sylvania. The staff works incredibly well together. By staff, I refer to everyone including janitorial, teachers, cafeteria workers, secretarial and paras. Several of the seven Sylvania elementary schools can boast the same, but at Maplewood it works. Not only the staff, but more importantly, there is parental respect and support. It is the "heart of the community." A relatively short seven years after being rebuilt, can the cost of renovation be justified? My argument is not necessarily about Maplewood. I question if there has been an independent analysis of renovation cost to the district and an equally important projected enrollment analysis?

Option 3 would be a horrible disruptor. The sense of neighborhood would be destroyed for these children. Traffic from redistricted, incoming students from other areas would be horrendous in the already congested Monroe/Maplewood area. Frankly, I would be angry were my child be forced to bus to their elementary school when Maplewood is visible from our front porch. We and many other families chose their homes for reasons like this.
