We moved to Sylvania for the schools. We moved to the Maplewood district so the children could walk or ride their bikes to school, not to be bussed miles away past their school!

My stepchildren were "bussed" out of district and it caused emotion stress on both them and us. Please keep Maplewood as it is.

I am a former Toledo resident. I do not think that Sylvania Schools should be restructured. It is an excellent district where students excel and teachers are happy. Keep the schools the way that they are. Change isn't always better. My mother and her elderly friends do not email, but they do vote for levies. However, they will not continue to support the schools if this change occurs. Thank you.

We love Sylvania Schools, especially Maplewood where our four kids got a great start. We like the simple pattern of option 3, where the kids all move together to different levels, BUT not at the expense of the youngest children moving across town.

It would be a terrible shame to lose maplewood as an elementary school, especially to have to renovate it after it had just been redone. It hardly makes sense.

I don't believe that Option #3 has the best interest of the Sylvania kids. I'm uneasy with my child riding to and from Whiteford everyday. My first grader was already of victim of horseplay that got out of hand on the bus this year; his current bus ride is 15-20 minutes. What is going to happen on a 40 minute bus trip? I also have concerns with my child switching schools four more times before graduating; this seems a bit much. There has been a lot of talk that Option #3 will provide more opportunities for the children but what about the kids with special needs? Is it a really a good idea to move them from their established interventionists/therapists every couple of years? School is difficult enough for these kids; do they really need to establish new trust/relationships with new interventionists/therapists in addition to everything else? I hope that our pleas will be taken under advisement before making a final decision. Thank you!
