Vote Amazon to REMOVE Spiteful Book Reviews

Spiteful plot revealing reviews demean authors and demean Amazon as a friendly bookstore. Authors spend months writing novels, and authors of historical novels endure endless weeks on research for authenticity. Why then does any online bookstore such as Amazon allow people to post reviews that are out and out spiteful comments designed to ruin the pleasure for other readers by giving away the plot? What is more, reviews of the above nature are becoming more and more aggressive in tone, designed to damn authors and books alike. Amazon is becoming a really quite an unpleasant atmosphere for book buyers. Vote for Amazon to remove spiteful plot reveal reviews.

It seems that some readers are trying to punish authors of books they didn't like by ruining it for potential readers and by damaging sales. You didn't like it? Get your money back and go read something else. Shame on you.
A review - is an individual opinion of the reviewer only - it should be a comment on the tone, structure, writing style, likeability of the characters and a rating of the book based on the genre it sits in - it is unacceptable for plot reveals to be allowed - some books have plot twists which are critical to reader enjoyment - critical to the story arc - to reveal them - destroys any chance of a potential reader's enjoyment of the skill displayed by the author in turning a good plot twist. If a review relies on a blow by blow description of the plot to fill it's space it is not a review at all - it is a consciously written spoiler and does nothing but shame the reviewer themselves. A clear and delineated template on the review page - explaining to a reader when they leave a review what the actual criteria of a review is - entry field by entry field - would go a long way to fixing the issue. Reviewer education. Aside from that a bad review only highlights the reviewer's possible lack of understanding of the material and their opinion - if they missed the point - should be struck from the record. Don't leave a bad review - move on - only leave good reviews for awesome work you loved and state the reasons why you loved it.

I don't even read book jacket/back cover blurbs for fear of giving away too much. I hate it!
