Volunteer Student Parking

Students volunteering at Banner University Medical Center are not offered any type of free or discounted parking. This is causing a problem due to the unpaid volunteering costing students at least 8 dollars for one 4 hour shift. However, most students take their time to volunteer for free for shifts longer than 4 hours, costing them up to 20 dollars a day for parking. Students are not allowed to park in any hospital parking lot, as this is reserved for patients and visitors only. Volunteering, being unpaid, is costing students an immense amount of money every month, with most students volunteering at Banner University Medical Center for 1+ years. A solution to this problem could be working through a new change of plan with Banner University Medical Center or a nearby business. Perhaps there is a way to prove volunteer hours to get free parking, like Adult Volunteers are offered. This is becoming a huge issue for student Volunteers and could impact Volunteer presence in the future.
