This is truly disgusting behavior on the part of the library.

This is absolutely horrifying!!! I am almost beyond words..I am a mother to seven and a grandmother to six, and I will say in all my years I don't think I have ever seen something so disgustingly inappropriate in one our most sacred places - our children's library. How dare the administrator in this location allow this display. Who do you think you are to submit such insanely inappropriate information to our young. This is sickening. You should be immediately removed from your position for such a heinous action!!

The Library is no place for this type of assault on our families. Where is the fair balance on abstinence and the possible and probable mental ramifications on woman After having an abortion? Very sad.

The distastefulness of this display in a public library, by the childrens' books, has rendered me speechless.

As a homeschooling family, we used to be frequent patrons of the JMRL system; however, we no longer visit the library. We would like to feel secure in resuming our patronage.

I hope the County sees the error of their ways and gets rid of this display. If someone were to approach a stranger's child with this information, they would be arrested and probably charged as a pedophile and forced to register ass a sex offender. Why is it okay for NOW to present it in this manner?

Whomever allowed this to take place should be fired. Immediately.

As a child I loved this library. Right now I feel a little betrayed by them. There is no need for young children to have their innocence ruined by something like this.

I am disgusted by this display, as well as the poor common sense that went into approving it. Additionally, I am deeply discouraged by the way community concerns are being ignored.

This is something that parents talk to their children about. Not something display in a library.

This is ABSOLUTELY OUTRAGEOUS. This is a topic for parents to discuss freely with their children, not for a library to put such a biased and unsanctioned by the parents who bring their children to the library display at children's level in plain view. I am extremely disappointed and disturbed by this.

This petition is too narrow. The government official who approved this display needs to be out of a job. If John Halliday approved it, he needs to be fired. If a subordinate of his approved it, Mr. Halliday needs to publicly identify and fire that person.

Please remove this exhibit, or at least move it to an area that isn't in such immediate proximity to kid-traffic. I saw this in person and my 26 month old daughter was pressed up against it asking me questions. While I believe it's fine for children to learn about these things at a young age, I find it unacceptable that the public library would force it upon families right as they come in the door. I can explain condoms and fetishes to my 2yr old daughter another time- when I don't have strangers standing a few feet away giggling. Please be more considerate of your patrons.

To CVille NOW:
Have you no sense of shame? You displayed what is for some (based on our religious beliefs) highly offensive materials. Moreover, you have shown what sort of ideologues you really are: willing to use what should be a philosophically neutral public display case for your radical feminist goals. Your behavior is consistent with the PC advocates who have now created the neo-Stalinist climate in the public square. Only your view is "permitted" by the state . Shame on you.

My views are well-expressed in the petition. The display was especially distressing for me because I love visiting this library and should not be forced to avoid it: "[We] would hope that the local library, of all places, will be a resource in the raising of our children, not an ideological force that any conscientious parent, of any philosophy, should have to avoid."
