Be a Voice for the Animals. Keep the Overnight Cages.

Please! Allow those among who are unable to comply with your restrictions for releasing an animal to continue to have access to the drop off cages.

Keep this open! There is no other alternative! Without this, so many more animals will be displaced :(

This is not a solution. MHS is the ONLY animal shelter and is contracted by the County to help with animal welfare. Closing the kennels will result in more animals being left as strays.

In my years on Maui I have encountered several abandoned dogs a few who became my lifelong loved companions. This happened when there was this option of free drop off. How many MORE will now be dumped once this optioned is removed

Keep the Overnight Cages.

Please provide extended hours for people to drop off or to adopt animals. mahalo.......

I have dropped of feral cats after hours as well as canned food and treats. I see no significant additional cost to keeping them operational and a HUGE inconvenience to the public in shutting them down. I believe the MHS is supposed to operate to benefit the Maui people and animals, not the other way round.

It is better to leave sick and injured animals in the holding pen, than releasing them into the surrounding areas. Also invasive species and illegal animals are left anonymously, which is important to the Hawaii eco system

Maui's animals need extended hours as a safety net.

These overnight kennels are a much needed, safe place for the pets of maui. A must have!!!

When good people find lost animals or just catch a stray these after hour kennels are a godsend. Please don't close them.

PLEASE keep the night kennels Open for the sakes of the Animals. Closing them will be a Disaster !

i wish we had overnight cages at our Humane Societies in Canada. it would help the stranded animals until morning and atleast keep them safe from what else may be lurking outside like fishers.

I'm not sure why the MHS has chosen this decision but I think it needs to be reconsidered. Without the overnite cages many will not pick up an abandoned animal because they do not have a safe place to secure them till the next day. And of course the quilt and even shame of abandoning an animal. Please don't make the animal pay the price of a neglectful human. Thank you.

Those kennels have saved my dog twice. If it wasn't for someone being able to take him there I'm afraid my dog may not of been found nor returned
