Be a Voice for the Animals. Keep the Overnight Cages.

Please keep the overnight boxes, it safes animals that maybe found on the roads or in yards where people can not take an animal in , this will save many lives.

Whereas it would seem to be more helpful to have the information, 16 years of animal sheltering experience tells me more animals will suffer without the overnight drop off alternative.

There has got to be a way.

PLEASE re-open the overnight kennel, as otherwise pets might get dropped in the streets/fields/ocean and don't want to think of anything worst, as many feel ashamed and judged to bring their pets to the MHS during office hours. PLEASE this is of utter importance to prevent further animal abuse.

Gotta have them, otherwise poor animals won't even get a chance to be helped....

Please keep the overnight kennels open.

Please do not remove these cages! In the end it HELPS animals and that is what you are here to do!

Please do not close the night drop off kennels. They help prevent people from dumping unwanted pets in a field. They help the animals who would otherwise be killed or abandoned.

Please don't close the after hours cages.

Please reconsider this decision -- the animals need you and are counting on your kindness. Please don't let them down.

The dog I adopted was dropped in the overnight cage more than 6 years ago. There are people who will dump animals anywhere because they don't want to be seen. Please leave the cages open!

I hope this is a very BAD april FOOLZ joke ! Stop the dumping of unwanted pets by giving people who feel ashamed &/or guilty and perhaps heartbroken, an anonymous & SAFE way to ensure the animals will be taken care of humanely !

Very bad idea. People are now just going to dump the animals anywhere.

Please reconsider and keep the overnight cages. I've used them before when I've found stray animals and alway feel good about dropping them off there because I know they're safe

I understand (and support) the reasoning behind this decision, but I cannot support this decision. I was one of those who had to deal with animals left in the overnight holding kennels and yes, it was extremely frustrating when no information accompanied some animals. But, those people who drop off animals after hours are not likely to bring them in during business hours for a host of reasons and I have little doubt this policy will result in increased dumping (or worse). MHS please rethink this decision.

If people won't even bother to fill out paperwork more thoroughly for the overnight drop, what makes MHS think those people are now going to suddenly be willing to come inside, face people and answer questions? Most likely not going to happen. For them to save face they will now make a worse choice. This short-sighted decision will only place a heavier burden on other smaller underfunded unpaid volunteer rescue organizations. Please reconsider.

I feel animal safety is more important than the need to make sure forms will be filled out completely. Please reconsider. This will cause more animal dumping!

As a previous employee at MHS 10 years ago I can tell you those overnight cages are very important. There were animals left there in the safety of those kennels almost every night. Without those kennels most animals will be left near the shelter in the cane fields. In fact I believe the kennels were installed because of pets being left in the cane fields. Owners were reunited with their pets and saved by those kennels. Bad idea MHS.
