For all those who don't have an RV or a boat but do have a high hedge, fence, or a shed within setbacks look out you are next.

I think this is a really personally invasive ordinance! I also think it is very discriminatory!

We pay property taxes, leave our property rights alone. I know there are a few homeowners and worse rentals houses who do not maintain their property but don't punish the rest of us who take pride in ownership and work hard for our toys.

Goleta, this is a really bad idea! So many against this ordance for really valid reasons! I hope you listen to the people and avoid a huge lawsuit!

Ridiculous. Storage facilities are salivating over this one...

I cannot stress enough the importance of city officials leaving law abiding homeowners alone. Its fine that we move our RVs off the street, so we do. We make property improvements to accommodate this. As you know. If we cant keep them with us then we will have to sell. So will a lot of others de valuating our investments further due to excess inventory not to mention the hard years of work i have put forth to be able to camp with my children. I encourage that dialog be made with the RV/home owners for a solution to keep our things with us at home where they belong. Ive lived here my whole life which I'm sure is more than anyone whom makes these potentially disastrous decisions have done. I love my home town of Goleta. Stop making it harder for people to want to live here. If you must, and Im sure there are individuals for that it warrants, go after them to clean up their areas. Perhaps grandfather current owners in good standing with the right to keep whats theres at home where it belongs. Andrew Vineyard

This is beyond ridiculous. They have ordinances that effect safety which they completely choose to ignore yet want to go after this one. If they can tell us what we can and cannot do on our property then we should be sending them our property tax bills for them to pay

Absolutely stupid that you cannot park an RV in your own driveway. I do not own an RV or camper but if I did I want to be able to park it in my driveway. The city does not need to be involved in this.

I am have not only lived in Goleta for almost 50 years, but have owned an RV for approximately 40. I have talked with my neighbors and none have any complaints about my parking in my driveway. Several have their own RVs and do the same. We should be allowed to park a RV, Boat or Trailer in the driveway on our property if it fits without overhanging onto either the sidewalk or a neighbor's property. This should also apply to a side yard or back yard if there is a properly permitted access and the vehicle fits. No additional screening should be required. I will agree that the public streets should not be used for long term storage, but I think that there are already ordinances that cover that. There are not enough commercial storage yards available in Goleta to house all of the vehicles that will be displaced. Respectfully, Stephen Cross

If the City Council folks are not willing to represent and honor the wishes of their constituents they are paid to serve then it is time to hold them each accountable and they need to give up their respective positions on the City Council.

City Council should not have the right to tell a property owner that they cannot park a recreational vehicle etc in their own driveway. They are not a homeowners association and it is my understanding that local property owners are ready to take court action should they try to do this.

I never would have voted for cityhood if I had known that I would be restricted as to what I am allowed to park on my own property. As long as the RV is completely on my property and does not hang over the public sidewalk or public property in any way shape or form, the city should keep its nose out of my business.

I bought in Goleta and not Santa Barbara so I could park in my driveway. We work hard to have our home and recreational vehicles. If it's on our property there should be no issue! Don't make Goleta a homeowners association!

What is the city going to think up next? It's ther own driveway. I can see if it wasn't registered, but let them park them there!!!

This is an overreaching regulation. We don't want littered cluttered neighborhoods but this goes too far.
