Update: We are not asking for donations through this platform - just signatures for the petition! Any donations you make here will go to ipetitions.com, not our organization. Email us directly if you would like to make a contribution to support the legal effort.

Atlantic Beach has been able to preserve something almost no other part of the Grand Strand region can even imagine — a coastline unmarred by massive hotels and high rises blocking the view of the ocean ...Our 4 blocks of unobstructed ocean front and historic governance are unique to Atlantic Beach. We need your help to preserve it.

Against the recommendations of our Planning Commission and the overwhelming opposition by residents and property owners, our Town Council is pushing through an amendment that paves the way for unwanted high-rise development and a multi-level parking garage right on the beachfront. We believe this development will destroy our beachfront and forever change the cultural and historical significance of one of the last remaining ocean front communities predominantly owned and governed by African Americans.

Stand with us as we mobilize to SAVE THE ATLANTIC BEACH OCEANFRONT and appeal to our Councilmembers to:

Say NO to high-density structures!!!

Say NO to unintended environmental consequences!!!

Say NO to high-rises on the beach!!!

Sign the petition today to help preserve the identity, legacy and cultural significance of The Black Pearl!!!

Thank You!

The momentum behind our opposition to these high-rise developments is increasing daily. Achieving one hundred signatures will provide a necessary milestone as we prepare to confront the Town Council regarding their proposed amendments.

My family has been coming to Atlantic Beach for generations. Once they put those hotels up the magic is gone for good. Leave it alone.

Where I live in Maryland, the black beach areas are all gone -- that wealth has been officially transferred out of the our community. So sad to see the same thing happening in Atlantic Beach - it's like everyone is reading the playbook but us smh

STOP THE HIGH RISES!!! We dont need more concrete blocking our view. This isnt myrtle beach and we should keep it that way.

Keep our history alive. Once these high rises go up you can never take them down. Think about the legacy we are leaving the kids.

The council is selling us out. Seen this happen too many times in other towns and it never ends well for the locals.

If they build a parking garage right on the sand it will ruin the whole vibe. Who even thought this was a good idea??
