I strongly support this issue. Veterans are a group that suffer greatly, are misunderstood and often not respected, yet they have and have devoted their lives to supporting and defending the Constitution of the United States of America. We have sacrificed our own safety, quality of life and years of time in this world in order to not only protect the country we all share as Americans, but stand guard so that others who share space in our college did not have to. For Evergreen to continue to claim they support veterans as they do other oppressed, targeted groups such as the disabled, LGBTQ, and people of color, they should create a safe space where we may congregate without fear of judgment. This expansion has been needed for quite some time. Creating a welcoming environment for our veterans at TESC is crucial to their success in education. Unfortunately, our campus climate offers a lot of push back to vets and having this enlarged sanctuary of resources will aide them in navigating what are already the tough waters of higher ed.

This would be a heaven-sent for the VRC. There are always people there beyond the capacity. Having a larger space only makes sense for the VRC.
