Thanks, Damon! Prayerfully, this Independence Day, we can generate enough signatures to grab the attention of the NRA and MSM. I am really pissed at "Betrayus" and Lord Stanley for doing this to us "outsiders" as Peggy Noonan so thoughtfully calls us! See you soon, Bo

The 2nd Ammendment is in our Bill of Rights, a key component of the US Constitution, which recognizes INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS that US Citizens were born with.

I have sworn to protect the Constitution several times during my life. There are no exceptions or time limits on this. We need to remind our elected officials and government employees of this oath they too have taken.

Agreed. And just as importantly, the first 13 words..."A well-regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state,"

Wonder why the 2nd amendment is the only one to be constantly treated as lesser than the other amendments? The Bill of Rights was made to enforce what everyone considered to be already inalienable rights of the people.

I support this effort.

Te commission said to support and defend the Constitution of the U.S. against all enemies, foreign and domestic. The 2nd Amendment part of that Constitution, and it can only be changed by an act of Congress. Until that happens, unlike a judicial decision, it is truly the LAW OF THE LAND.

The Framers included the 2nd Amendment in the Bill of Rights due to their experience with the tyranny of Parliament and King George III. They recognized that in the history of government, tyranny is the rule rather than the exception, and sought to guarantee that The People would possess the same type of arms that a potentially oppressive government would use to deprive them of their natural rights. Mssrs. Petraeus, McChrystal and Kelly et al. may not understand this, but the rest of us do. In contrast to those woefully misinformed individuals, we are firmly committed to the principles of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness expressed in The Declaration and embodied in The Constitution. I merely hope that those men fail miserably in their efforts so that their children and ours may remain free.
