It sucks that I even have to sign this petition. Are there any others that I must sign in order to have free speech? religion? To be free from cruel and unusual punishment, etc? Or is this the only one that I must fight for?

IAW the 2nd amendment of the bill of rights.....A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

ever since I was in COmmand and General Staff College, and GEN Petreaus lectured us that "It was our duty as a Field Grade Army Officers to FOREGO OUR RIGHT TO VOTE in the general election because it would be potentially against the inbound Commander in Chief...I lost my respect for his point of view. This simply re-enforces my stance.

This is a god given right. It is not for government to determine. It is governments job to protect and defend. I am a former US Marine and I still take seriously my oath to protect and defend.

"The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." Infringed means "limited". My right shall not be limited by number of guns owned, what kind of guns I own, nor where I bear those guns. That's the U.S. Constitution: no limits.

Once again we are forced to observe impractical and unconstitutional political behavior on the part of high level managers of organizations whose existence is predicated on protecting the U.S. citizenry. First we endured calls for gun control from so called leaders of certain law enforcement organizations, and now a few of our military "leaders" are going down this path. If you don't find this disturbing, you are probably asleep. F. LaFlamme (20 plus year LE veteran, county of Los Angeles)

With about 100 million LEGAL gun owners who own about 300 million LEGALLY-OWNED guns and an unknown number of ammo; if gun ownership was a problem - we would certainly know about it!!

Only by God's guidance will our great country ever recover. But, we as Americans must fight to keep our freedoms alive or we will end up like all the other countries that have fallen in the past. God Bless us and God Bless America.

I am a Viet Nam Veteran. When I swore my oath to defend my country from all enemies foreign and domestic. Little did I realize that it would be from my own Government. I Love My Country, it's my Government that I don't trust. Molon Labe And my Oath of Enlistment has no expiration date.

What in the world is going on with these Generals? I have lost all respect for them, they are like so many others at this time, without any sense of reality or the truth.
