This employee WENT above and beyond the call of duty (job ) and should be commended for his actions......NOT PUNISHED.
THERE SHOULD BE MORE PEOPLE LIKE HIM.....not enabling the young kids to be criminal.

I understand Publix's reasoning. However, I feel the punishment for doing the right thing was extreme. Perhaps a probationary period would have been more suitable to the situation.

Publix is suppose to be a family oriented store that strives to help the community. Or at least it use to be. This manager did something of his own volition to help a member of his community. This is whatbis wrong with the country; people are punished for being kind and caring human beings. Shame on you Publix.

I have worked at Publix for 27 years and I am appalled at this ..yes shoplifting we're not supposed to chase people but this was a robbery a purse-snatching ..I mean the poor innocent woman..So if a customer had chased him and caught him he would have been hailed a hero.. this is just wrong

Publix please set a precedence to show common sense and just doing the right thing is a priority! This hero should not be punished. I've shopped this store for many years and WILL NOT continue to support a corporation that does not support its employees and customers! Do the right thing Publix, show our wonderful community you Care, just like this hero did!
