Stop valley parks makeup ban

Valley park are infringing every single females human rights,

I use to go to school at valley park, seems like its become a joke now

this ridiculous, a makeup ban, really? to be honest i would be distracted from doing my work even more if i weren't to wear makeup because i would feel uncomfortable and self conscious. most of the girls in valley park don't even wear that much and if the students have to take their makeup of then i say so do the teachers. this school is ridiculous.

this is so sad and its just making girls feel so bad about them self's its unfear and valley park should just stop.

Makeup isn't just makeup it's a confidence boost and this is the 21st century btw

Banning make up will make girls feel insecure and low, and will enforce bullying by other students. Being made to go to student support is affecting learning time, and surely the school should be focusing on students achieving their GCSE's and BTEC's of a high level rather than wasting learning time out of lesson?

Yeah girls can go over the top with make up but still make the only wear a little bit of make up don't ban it

This started when I was there 6 years ago now. I remember the horrible feeling of being made to take my makeup off and I didn't wear that much! The school is focusing too much on it's appearance and not enough on the education of young children! The money they spent on a huge fountain with carp in it rather than new maths books that were well needed just sums it up completely!

Growing up in this school was an absolute joke, getting pulled out of important lessons for having trousers that are slightly too long or hair the wrong colour - whatever happened to being able to freely express yourself and school being the place to do so??? The fact that banning makeup is more important then ensuring bullying isn't an issue (which at Valley Park it very much is) is an outrage! School is supposed to be the place where you find out who you are and where you feel comfortable but this rule is just going to make girls feel extremely uncomfortable for a ridiculous reason! Nice one Valley, another brilliant decision

Makeup does not affect learning. You are disrupting someone's learning by making them go to student support and wipe it off

This school was and will always be a absolute joke! Education was never a priority,teachers belittling students and making girls feel as though they are distracting to the opposite sex. Makeup is a way of expression and I certainly Would not come into school if I we're made to go without makeup. This school just keep on embarrassing themselves!

I went to Valley Park and make up has always been a problem for me there and the fact they have ban it completely is ridiculous, girls should have the right to wear makeup as from the ages of 11-18 at school for me self image was always going to be an important thing to any young female as some people feel naked without it, and it is part of the overwhelming societal pressure to be attractive and other people would judge you on your appearance and make up can give you that confidence you need, we would never expect teachers to stop wearing makeup as they wear it for the same reasons as I have just mentioned so why should any young female feel any less confident than a teacher being forced to not wear makeup. I agree it should be made more discrete but not be ban completely.

Suffered the consequences of this, and it really implemented my education. At such an age image is something that young people take very seriously, and denying these girls the right to feel comfortable within their day to day lives can have a very knock-on effect on their self esteem and confidence. And honestly when your self esteem is low, will you really have any enthusiasm to learn or even come into school?

To be honest, yeah they shouldn't have put the ban on but if girls didn't wear make up as much as what the Valley Park girls do, then they are going to say something. And girls don't need makeup to feel confident, if you were all nice people it shouldn't matter.

I'm sick of girls being told off for distracting guys. Why can't the guys be told to control themselves? Why should it always be the girls that are punished. In the work place or at university if this ban was ever put in place there would be national coverage as it's pure sexism. Get the girls to change the way they look to keep the boys happy. It's utterly bizarre.

I used to have so many problems in the lower years of valley, getting sent to have my make up taken of every day and told to change my hair colour, they do not understand the concept of expressing yourself making yourself stand out. It's a joke. I felt so self conscious every day after removing my 'slap'
