this is ridiculous, a makeup ban, really? to be honest i would be distracted from doing my work even more if i weren't to wear makeup because i would feel uncomfortable and self conscious. most of the girls in valley park don't even wear that much and if the students have to take their makeup off then i say so do the teachers because some teachers wear more than the students! this school is so pathetic and ridiculous.

Kids are at school to learn and should be able to wear what ever they feel is comfortable

It's not fair we should be able to feel confident and happy in our own skin and with makeup that makes it easier. I think the idea of 'distracting boys' is ridiculous! And sexist!

Why should they ban makeup? It makes girls feel better about themselves and with no makeup they will feel uncomfortable, I know this because I would. It is not distracting anyone from their work. With some makeup, girls feel more secure and are proud to come to school looking how they want to look. Without makeup all the girls will be unhappy and furious at the school, setting a bad example to the new students and parents that want to come to valley park.

This should not be happening. Three out of four of my sisters go to Valley Park. And many others of my family, cousins, stepsisters. Anyone. Why do they do this. Makeup has never hurt anyone. Some actually need it so that they dont fet bullied as they have a massive pimple on thier face, or a birth mark. Whats so wrong with a bit of make up here and thier. We've had, and probably will always gave makeup. Its just a fashion, like Adidas, or nike. Whats is soo wrong. Stop it. Just stop it. Its pathetic, and to be honest just downright dumb!!

I used to go to valley and I was well known for being the gothic girl and wearing a lot of eyeliner. I would get away with it a lot because of my fringe and glasses, but when the teachers did see they would tell me to go wipe it off at student support. I would cringe at the thought of taking my make up off and get myself all worked up about it. Taking away make up for some girls is like taking their confidence away, especially if you are a teen girl it takes a long time for us to start liking or loving ourselves the way we are naturally, make up is part of a girls life it's her armour.

If there is a problem with boys being distracted, then the problem doesn't lie with the girls wearing make up, it lies with the boys' attitude towards the girls.
If there is a problem, deal with the root cause.
Everybody needs to feel confident, particularly when learning, this is far more of a distraction to students than wearing make up. Surely the line needs to be drawn, a prescribed list of shoes and bags is also too far. We all understand that students need to look smart bug there are other ways to obtain this outcome.

Offsted reports might be good but the teaching and general communication of the school was diabolical

It is disgusting that they think they should ban make up, to be critisised for any time taken out from school to go to the doctors or a funeral, they sure didn't have a problem removing you from a lesson for the length of your trousers, skirt or tie! Makeup gave me great confidence and I would never be without it and to ban it from girls who are growing up is disgusting. Whilst and even after I left that school I still do not understand how wearing makeup affects your learning! After leaving that school I work at a high profile global company who stated the one of the reasons they hired me was because of how I 'put myself together' and in particular 'how I do my makeup'. Whatever your argument or basis for why girls shouldn't wear makeup you are wrong and to make the comment that 'it distracts boys' is dangerous, what are you going to come out with next? That girls who wear make up are 'up for it' and deserve what comes to them, just because of a bit of make up. Get a grip valley park
