It is time ISKCON moved forward and formally recognised the age we live in and the changing attitudes to women. We no longer live in a vedic age, and if we want to continue to grow and attract new souls then we need to give women a greater role than just cooks kirtan leaders mothers and Pujaris..

In this age of Kali our only hope is Sri Chaitanyas movement. We need all our spiritual soldiers Vaishnav or Vaishnavi to spread the holy names of Lord Krishna. Why would we want to have our qualified Vaishnavis not help us spread the movement? Look at what's happening in the world today. All other religions do anything to recruit! It will be pretty silly to not to let our qualified Vaishnavis help our movement spread. Just think what we could achieve if we all got together and supported our Vaishnavis who would be great leaders in the world too. In this age of Kali every bit of preaching counts and every qualified Vaishnavi matter, why not let her be a diksha Guru? Please! Hare Krishna!

We are not this body. We are not female or male anyway in reality.
if anyone is qualified, if their philosophy is in line with our parampara, if they are incline to guide and nuture others in spiritual life and if others are drawn to them then they should be allowed to give diksa initiation. Common sense. In a society that claims 'we are not this body' that is the only logical conclusion.

It's a big positiv step forward, but my humble opinion is that in ISKCON we need demisticifation of the guru position we need less amphasise on traditional roles, more on the teacher role (showing by own example and being personally present in lives of desciples)
