If a Vaisnavi is qualified there should be no material impediment to helping others advance in Krsna consciousness.

I agree that women should be allowed to participate entirely in giving diksa to devotees around the globe if there are qualified participants. Women are great leaders, caretakers and nurturers naturally, so they taking up Guru/Sannyasa positions is similarly going to help nurture more devotees into the movement. All glories to Women, all glories to Srila Prabhupada, Hare Krishna.

Na minha opinião, considero justo. Tendo que existem muitas Vaisnavi sinceras neste movimento, considerando que o Jagat guru aprovaria com certeza tal decisão.

A qualified guru is a qualified guru. The idea that someone's body qualifies someone as a bonafide guru, goes against one of the pillars of our philosophy, which is: we are NOT this body. Even my children, all girls, understand that according to guru, sadhu and sastra this argument against women gurus is absurd. We can't pick and choose what to follow based on our own prejudices. If we want the respect of the world let's show them we ALL follow a spiritual science, not just those who choose to.

If someone is empowered to be qualified and has the impetus to be a guru then anyone can give disksa.

I would love to see equality for women and every person in ISKCON!

I hope that this will be a sign of a growing spirituality, not only among women, but in general. Otherwise, if the emergence of more and more spiritually qualified women would not be followed by the improvement in a spiritual qualification of men, then all this might as well be just another sign of a global spiritual degradation. Hoping for the best!
