VA Recoupment of Disable Veterans SSB/VSI Payments

Everyone needs to post this on facebook. The recoupment is bs.

This recoupment needs to stop! My VA medical disabilities have nothing to do with DOD severance pay that I received from the Army in 1992. Stop it!

This needs to be looked into and changed.

I am also looking at paying back vsi payments I have received for 23 years if I receive a rating for my recently filed veterans claim for injuries while on active duty.The payback for the veterans administration is something I did not understand at the time and I do not believe it was fully explained. I also enlisted in the Irr and standby reserve still ready to serve until my health got bad and they will not do a recoupment for Va Benefits, it is heartbreaking.

I received the SSB back in 95 and in 2012 with being awarded disability I am having to pay ALL of it back. One has nothing to do with the other. There should be a statue of limitations.

That money is earned not in addition to something. My separation and willingness to serve in the IRR and my disability's are mutually exclusive. This is wrong!!!

This is so wrong on so many levels. Why should I payback for my long argus years at sea away from my family. I did my time leave me alone.

They did me the same way I was awarded 30 percent service connected diaasbility in 2010 and struggling to pay back the ssb payment if I would have retired the would not take back the retirement pay

I believe I did my time and the separation pay was for a job well done. I was only trying to help our country

I took the SSB in 1995. Later joined the reserves and retired in 2007. I injured my should while in the reserves and the VA is taking the SSB before paying for the service connected injury which happened at a later date and enlistment. I don't get retired pay until age 60, that when the repayment was supposed to begin.

I am having the same problem I got out in 1992, after 5 years of inactive reserved Va took all my VSI for beign 100% disable and uninemployable

This recoupment has always been unfair. Others received this benefit but did not repay a single penny because they were not entitled to VA compensation.
