Utkinton Village Children's Playground - REJECTED BY THE DIOCESE

Let the children have some fun! There's not nearly enough decent play areas for children in the county, especially as compared to other areas of Uk

I grew up in Utkinton and there was and still is no where to play. The options for us as children were to 'hangout' at the local bus stop or play in the road. Disgraceful decision. My parents still live there and my own son would have benefited greatly from them having somewhere safe to take him to play.

I support a new playground & investment in small villages for families is important. Given the costs vs other surplus monies spent as far as I'm concerned it's money well spent.

It is essential to the community of Utkinton to have suitable recreation facilities in order for it to be sustainable into the future. The village and the school need young families moving in to survive. The decision makers at the Diocese have acted in a most un-Christian way and I would ask why four people have bought a house next to a school and acted in such a deeply aggressive and short-sighted manner. Not on my patch will only lead to one outcome - the death of the village and school. I've little doubt these people are unconcerned by this prospect.

Children need an area to play desperately

We have had our play area in Eaton for 15 months now and through careful monitoring of the area by residents, we haven't had any vandalism, no poor behaviour reported and no complaints, despite a number of homes being reluctant at the beginning. We have a rota for volunteers, (52 families, plus 10 reserves incase of illness), then on our assigned week, we check the play area each day, ensuring that no-one plays after closing hours (8pm in the summer and dusk in the winter), that there's no litter and nothing has been damaged. When I've been on duty, I've found the children playing to be nothing other than respectful and polite. I hope you manage to overcome this stumbling block to ensure that all age groups are catered for. Good luck with the project.

Utkinton needs a playground for its young children and their parents. It would be a valuable community asset.

Please do not deprive our children of much needed play area. Ridiculous decision to decline it with a growing population.

Utkington is a lovely village which could be greatly enhanced by a children's playground. Surely some compromise can be reached?

Utkinton village children would benefit from a play ground to restore a community and continue it through the generations

Play areas teach children a plethora of things...how to have fun, gaining confidence in challenging tasks and teaching them sharing and growing their conversational confidence talking to other children. A play area can only bring a positive attitude and outcomes for the villagers.

Disgusting that the church are rejecting a plan for a safe play area. Its no wonder more and more people are rejecting religion! Hope you get enough signatures to get this ridiculous decision overturned. Best of luck!

Play is vital for children's social behaviour skills, fresh air is important for their health. You want kids to stop becoming couch potatoes, to stop living in their bedrooms in front of their pc's and mobiles? Get them out of the house then, give them a safe play area. Let them be children, let them explore their creativity and imagination!!!
