This is an undue hardship during an economy that is already suffering thru a pandemic. A loss of employment doesn't translate into additional income on a family's part. If Utilities, Inc. think that raising their income keeps people employed, they are mistaken and heartless. Hurting us makes us remember you.

We've been signing letter for 6 months to FPSC. All we get back is a generic nonsense letter. This raise is bias, as they are using the more affluent zip code we live in, while the rates are low by their same company, a few blocks away, in Seminole county. Ron DeSantis, has never addressed the letters written to him about the bias we're being hit with,he's responsible for the choice of member on the board of FPSC. Do your job, Governor, as this is the same group who got increases 4 times in the last 2 yrs. This can't be,as we're senior citizen's in condo's no water used for waste water outdoors,as we're on wells. One person in less than 1,000,sqft condo, not using dishwasher, clothes washed only every 2 weeks, gone half of year, never would use water usage they pretend on paper. This is a rip off, and your office should stop sending generic letters saying if we don't get it settled on own, it's forgotten by FPLC. Utilities of Florida is a rip off working with Politicians to ruin us Seniors and young families. We'll remember you at voting time Governor DeSantis. This Company held a hearing last raise they got approved, even though over 200 families were fighting with Senators present. Waste of time, our tax money men, as they are part of the plan. Politicians have proven they are in for the money. Both parties.

It is OUTRAGEOUS that this entity is asking for another rate increase! They just got a rate increase 2 years ago. This monopoly on our water needs to be stopped!

I have written two letters in opposition. Governor DeSantis is reponsible for the selection of greedy men on FPSC. He knows why we're being selected, while a block away, same company rates much lower than ours. This is a sham. We need new Governor if he does nothing to stop the greed. Stop the Steal in 32779,because of our zip code.

Rate increase is unjustified. Local rates should be for our service area and not inflated to subsidize other losing jurisdictions.

I am President of our condo association San Marco Villas in Sabal Point. the last rate increase raised our fees by over 60%. This new increase will be a hardship to our community.

This increase is uncalled for. Due to the upgrades in other districts our district should not be required to foot the bill. Our district has not had any improvements that require raising our fees by 166%. This is abusive power of this monopoly.

Real numbers: February 2016 16k water = $60.73, October 2020 15k water = $$113.21. That is 86% increase. So why are the huge rate increases justified?

This rate increase never ends. They are constantly raising rates. Over 33,000 people in our area with Utilities, Inc. Base charge for water and sewer is $39.34 x 33,000 customers a month $1,298,220.00. This is just to have the water service whether or not you use it. Yet they ant to increase that again? What are they doing with this money? This is also making an impact the value of our homes.. Please stop these rates.

Aside from the existing remarks about the already high costs and future increases, I'd like to point out what I consider a big flaw in their rates. The monthly BASE CHARGES (water+sewage) on my bill are $56.21. That's before any actual usage. So even when I use water conservatively, or NOT AT ALL, I'm still hit with an unjustifiably large bill.
Compare that with electricity from Duke, where the monthly base charge is relatively low, and therefore high bills are directly tied to high usage.

This rate increase is an egregious use of power and overly burdensome to the public, even more in this pandemic year than most years. There is no way that a rate increase of this magnitude could ethically be approved.

The rate increases are out of control, too many people on fixed incomes and young families trying to make ends meet. With the hardships that so many families have endured this year coping with COVID and job losses, to want to raise the water rates YET AGAIN is outrageous.

The constant increases have been insane and have become a burden as my income has decreased due to the pandemic. A quick look at two statements in the month of June of 2017 and 2020 shows an 84.09% increase with approximately the same amount of usage in just three years! I can only imagine the percent increase of those who've lived here longer. The increases must stop for now and I agree with the proposals in this petition.
