It is such a long trip to Pyke Quarry from
Stone that we struggle, as pensioners, to lug great quantities of rubbish at a time, to avoid going so often.

This facility would be a great help to us who live n Stone. The drive to the current facility at Horsley is a long journey!

Thornbury recycling is just a few miles away from us in Stone. Makes sense to use nearest centre to reduce use of car.

Whole heartedly agree with this petition. All our shopping etc. is in Thornbury as it is the nearest Town for us. We have always seen Thornbury as “the” town for all our services.

Councils really should cooperate on green matters. I regard Thornbury as my local shopping centre and use it more than weekly. Why cannot I, in return, use the tip there?

It makes far more sense to travel to Thornbury than travelling to Horsley to dispose of our household waste and it far more sustainable on many fronts.

Please can we try and look after our planet and use waste and recycling facilities that are convenient for people. This encourages responsible recycling which is of upmost importance.

Thornbury is the principal town we use for shopping, we pay and use the leisure centre, we used the schools in Thornbury, so as cross border activities go, we should use the recycling centre. Wouldn't mind paying a fixed fee per year, a bit like the brown bin charge.

Totally agree with this, travelling double the distance to Pykes Quarry up those pot hole riddled roads makes no sense. Using the tip in Thornbury would encourage us to spend more in the town to double up the trip which further benefits the economy and also to recycle more regularly.

I live 1 mile from the border of south Gloucestershire so it seems ridiculous to have to drive 15 miles to Horsley when we are trying to protect our planet

It would be far more environmentally friendly to visit thornbury recycling centre than drive mile to the nearest site in Gloucestershire.

Residents should be able to use all accessible recycling centres otherwise fly tipping will increase.
